My first introduction to Whippets came via the Hillsdown Kennel, and the guidance of fellow 'Sheffielder' Phil Moran Healy. I was fortunate to be based in an area of the UK which was rich in top Whippet breeders at the time, and I feel very fortunate to have known them, many of which are still very good friends. As a 'stockman' from an early age I have always been fascinated by pedigree livestock and challenging myself to produce outstanding examples of the livestock I have kept and bred. Whippets have been my true passion for over 25 years, and first and foremost I've always considered myself to be a breeder and through the schooling of some wonderful mentors, and being a 'geek' of pedigrees and breed history, I felt educated enough to create my own line of Whippets. I become involved in the South Yorkshire Whippet Club early on, and learnt so much through the Club. I later became show manager of the Club for several years. I first awarded CC's in Whippets in  2013, and I have judged the breed at the top level across the globe in 10 different countries to date. I have bred several Champions in the UK and abroad, including Ch Veredon Another Rose - 7 CC's 4 RCC's who is a combination of all my dogs bloodlines over several generations. She was the top CC Winning Whippet in the UK in 2021. I am very proud that my males have all been excellent producers, and have produced Champions for several top breeders in the UK and overseas. I am a connoisseur of the breed and look for true, classical breed type and a look of unmistakable quality, and grace of outline, with breed typical movement; free, easy and 'true'.The invitation to judge Skokloster is a privilege and an appointment I am looking forward to with great anticipation.See you in July, Russell
